Chinese porcelains

description

Developed under the Han Dynasty (206 BC to 220 AD), Chinese porcelain is mainly made from soft white clay named kaolin heated to 1,200 °C (2,192 °F) by means of a traditional firing technique in buried brick ovens. Once lit, the kilns are fuelled for several weeks to get to the right temperature. Later, pieces are finely sanded.

Though far from equalling the collection exhibited in Istanbul’s Topkapi Palace Museum, ours notably consists of outstanding vases dating back to the Qing Dynasty.
